N33,000 Approved Allowance of the NYSC
The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) – Shuaibu Ibrahim, states that the federal government has approved the payment of N33,000 to corps members as a monthly allowance.
Also, he mentioned that this is together with the new National Minimum Wage approved by the federal government in the previous year. The NYSC released this on its official Facebook page on Wednesday evening.
According to the Service, the DG disclosed it while speaking to Corps members at the NYSC Secretariat in Bauchi State during his working visit to the state.
Moreover, the Director General says contrary amounts compared to what was speculated on Social media, therefore, the sum of N33,000 has been approved as the new corps members’ monthly allowance.
As he said, provisions have been made for the new allowance in the 2020 Budget, which says payments would start as funds are released by the appropriate authorities.
He instructed the corps members to steadily be conscious & security alert against rumor-mongering & negative usage of Social media.
Finally, the Director-General also instructed them to avoid unauthorized journeys & when authorized to travel, not to do it while the night is near, due to the existing danger mixed up with night trips.
